Lufta Farm has opened a new 63’000 sq/ft rooftop Glasshouse in Anjou, Montreal. This is their third rooftop farm built upon the success of their glasshouses in Ahuntsic and Laval giving a combined growing area of 138’000 sq/ft.
The new glasshouse produces 40 varieties of fresh urban grown leafy greens and veg.
Lufa now employ 140 people and deliver more than 10’000 food baskets per week for the consumers of Greater Montreal, who shop via their online market place. The online market place was set up in 2013 alongside the construction of their second farm. Lufa are now feeding the demand of the local consumers who want fresh local produce but hope to keep on growing the business with more rooftop farms.
