Over the last 12 months Commercial Hydroponic partners Hydrogarden have been building a large vertical growing unit at it’s Coventry HQ, as a demonstration unit and training facility for the V-Farm System.
It is called 'Project Urban Grow' and work is near completion with a go live date of February 2018.
V-Farm is an award winning modular structure of mobile racks fitted with gully trays. It can be completely tailored to fit the available space maximising output per m2 from both aisle-less space saving and innovative growing practices. The system uses the latest hydroponic technology, innovative LED lighting and environmental handling equipment to deliver a completely controlled growing environment meaning that growing can take place in warm or cold climates, 24 hours a day, with reliable, repeatable yields.
This versatile system is non crop-specific, allowing it to be adapted for growing a wide variety of salad greens, herbs, microgreens and even some fruit & vegetables
The environment can be fully controlled using a market-leading software interface via PC, tablet or smartphone and is a truly sustainable growing solution.
